Spain's Nacex ups sales by 19%
The Spanish express company Nacex increased revenues by 18.9% to EUR 195 million last year, from EUR 164 million in 2005.
Volume rose by nearly 12% to over 12.3 million shipments. Nacex described the results as “ excellent” and driven by a 30% increase in its international traffic.
The expanding company, formed in 1995 and now part of Grupo Logista, boasts over 300 branches in Spain, Portugal and Andorra, as well as 21 hubs, 1,230 vehicles and over 2,200 staff.
It is one of the top four domestic express operators in Spain, alongside Seur, MRW and Mex, and last year’s increase in turnover built upon a rise of 21.5% in 2005 (on 2004).
Nacex has improved its Portuguese distribution since the beginning of this year by expanding daily services and increasing geographical coverage to include the Azores and Madeira.
It has increased the number of franchises it has in Portugal from five to 22 in little over a year, and is opening two more in the north of the country, once each in Viana do Castelo and Braga.
