Estonian Post planning 2009 profit

Through conservative planning Estonian Post expects to earn a profit of 22m kroons in 2009.

The total volume of next year’s budget of Estonian Post is 1.01b kroons.

In planning the 2009 revenue, the company bases its calculations on a conservative prognosis.

On Friday, the supervisory board of the postal enterprise will start discussing the budget. “In drafting it, we have taken into account the factors that will impact the upcoming year – opening of the postal services’ market in Estonia and an overall economic state,” commented the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Estonian Post Meelis Atonen.

CEO of Estonian Post Ahti Kallaste admitted that next year will be difficult for the enterprise in terms of its financial state. “It will be important to survive in the context of the economic environment and to ensure the sustainability of the enterprise,” he said.

In coming year Estonian Post will focus on the existing services in order to maintain its market share today. At the same time, the company finds that it is also important to invest into new area such as logistics and information logistics in order to ensure growth and sustainability and fulfillment of the established objectives in the company.
