Bulgaria’s Parliament voted Thursday to extend the monopoly of the state-owned company Bulgarian Posts JSC until December 31, 2010.
The present Postal Services Act envisaged that the state monopoly over the transfer of internal and international correspondence would end on December 31, 2008.
The monopoly refers to the restricted section of the universal postal services, which are provided through the network of postal offices throughout the country.
The Postal Service Act amendments adopted also free Bulgarian Posts JSC from paying license fees until December 31, 2008.
