From April 2009, the small companies will be required to make their statement of VAT electronicly. La Poste say that ‘Certipost’, a subsiduary of La Poste which specialises in the protected exchange of electronic documents as well as digital certificates would provide a complete service.
Small companies will be able to declare their VAT each quarter via Intervat, an online service provided by the federal Public service Finances. With a professional digital certificate from Certipost, the certificate will prove the professional identity of the holder and associates that information with the company for which he or she works.
Certipost was created in 2002 and has some 50.000 companies and 502.000 private individuals already using the platform.
