E-nable brings cars to your door

A UK-based home delivery service for cars is being rolled out by Autologic Holdings, parent company of the Walon car transporter business. It is called E-nable, and aims to capitalise on growing consumer interest in Internet shopping, even for items as big as complete vehicles.

E-nable is aimed at both traditional and Internet-based car suppliers, allowing them to deliver vehicles direct to the end user’s front door. The company says it aims to offer a formal hand-over to each customer, including a full introduction to the vehicle. The service will be available nationwide.

To help monitor and control deliveries in the demanding consumer environment, the company has adopted the outsourced fleet management system from Isotrak. This provides vehicle tracking and remote data capture, including virtually instant proof-of-delivery via handheld terminals. It is said to allow Autologic to keep a close watch on the delivery process, and respond quickly to any issues that might arise.
