FedEx Express announced on 24 June that its upgraded customer service centre in central China’s Wuhan City has been officially reopened.
The upgraded service centre, which has added 95 customer service representatives, will now offer better service for international express customers in east China and domestic time-definite customers.
The move is another step in the company’s plan to tap into inland cities as the firm eyes the potential demand spurred by China’s stimulus package.
The company plans to further develop its business in second-tier and third-tier Chinese cities from Wuhan, which has a geographical advantage, said Eddy Chan, president of FedEx China.
Affected by the global financial crisis, the company’s business declined in 2008. However, the company is confident about China’s market potential and has seen better performance in June than in the first five months of this year, said Chan.
FedEx set up the customer service centre in Wuhan in May 2007 to provide domestic time-definite service.
