Norway Post implements new organisational structure
Norway Post is implementing a new organisational structure to ensure realisation of operational synergies and positioning for Nordic growth. The new organisational structure will be fully operational before the summer.
The Mail Division and parts of the Distribution Network Division will be merged to form an integrated Mail Division with responsibility for both customers and production.
The new Mail Division will be led by executive vice president Tore K. Nilsen. The Logistics Division on the other hand will be divided into two divisions: the Parcels and Goods Division, led by executive vice president Arne Bjørndahl and the Logistics Solutions Division led by executive vice president Pål R. Amundsen, a new EVP . The subsidiary ErgoGroup AS will not be affected by these changes.
Norway Post’s organisation, previous to the above described changes, has existed since 2006. In the past years, the Group has grown strongly in the fields of logistics and IT services while its mail volumes have declined. The organisational changes are in line with the Group’s strategy for the 2009-2013 period.
“With two logistics divisions, the Group management will come closer to the logistics market. The integrated mail division will help us adapt more quickly to changes in customer needs and pave the way for further cost reductions in the mail segment. In general, the new organisation is intended to contribute to coordination gains throughout the Group,” said Norway Post’s president and CEO Dag Mejdell.
Norway Post’s new Group management will consist of: Mejdell, Gro Bakstad (senior vice president & CFO), Elisabeth H. Gjølme (senior vice president & CCO), Randi Johanne Løvland (senior vice president HR), Tore K. Nilsen (executive vice president Mail Division), Arne Bjørndahl (executive vice president Parcels and Goods Division), Pål Amundsen (executive vice president Logistics Solutions Division) and Terje Mjøs (executive vice president & managing director ErgoGroup).
The new organisational structure will operational in June. In the coming months work will be carried out to shape the divisions in detail and define interfaces and key personnel.
