Parcel2Go reveals record turnover
UK-based Parcel2Go has announced record turnover figures of £11.6m. The company, which was recently named Online Business of the Year at the T-Mobile Fast Growth Business Awards, has enjoyed consistent year on year growth of 60-70%.
Revenue for the next twelve months is expected to grow to £16m – a huge leap from figures of £8.5m last year.
Parcel2Go Co-founder Richard Mercer said: “We are delighted with our strong growth figures over the past twelve months. Our customer base has expanded continuously, and we are constantly exploring new avenues and innovations to target, all of which are strengthening our offering.”
Parcel2Go now has 125,000 active customers compared to 90,000 at year end March 2009 which is partly attributable to the changes in people’s spending habits and search for bargains online.
As online sites such as eBay continue to grow in popularity and customers distribute and return more purchases by post, they are realising the true benefits and convenience of using Parcel2Go as their international delivery provider.
Awareness of the shipping services offered by Parcel2Go was also raised considerably during the postal strikes last year, and customer retention from this period has remained high.
Parcel2Go was founded in 2000 by father and son team, Fil and Richard Adams-Mercer along with colleague, Steve Kramer. The company has 35 employees.
