Smith takes CEO role at Nightfreight

UK-based Nightfreight has announced the appointment of Ian Smith as chief executive officer. With the support of managing director Peter Louden, and group financial director Ian Horsfall, Smith and the senior team of directors are spearheading the future growth and strategic direction of the company.

This will focus on the company’s nationwide B2B delivery network, as well as driving further innovation into Nightfreight’s ‘Deliver2Home’ nationwide B2C two-man delivery network.

Smith said: “Nightfreight is a highly innovative company dedicated to providing first-class service. With an ambitious business agenda and strategy, there has never been a better time for us to consolidate our position.

“It’s an exciting future, and I’m pleased to be at the forefront of this growth with my fellow board members and team.”

Smith joined Nightfreight in March 2010 – firstly as a consultant and then becoming chief operating officer and a member of the Group board of directors.
