CitySprint acquires TnM Couriers in the UK

UK-based distribution company CitySprint has completed the acquisition of TnM Couriers for an undisclosed sum. The company said the acquisition of the Warrington-based company “further strengthens its coverage in the North West region”.

TnM Couriers was established in 2006 by Mat and Bobbie Nichols, providing same day courier solutions to the local area.

Since last Friday (15 April), TnM Couriers have been trading under CitySprint.

“Mat Nichols and James Burrell will continue to manage the operations and a number of self-employed couriers, will move across from TnM Couriers to CitySprint to help ensure continuity of service for existing customers,” said a company statement.

Nichols said: “We have developed the TnM business to its full potential as a thriving and dynamic local courier provider and have been working very closely with CitySprint in recent years.

“It is now the natural time to develop this relationship further so that the business can take on new challenges and grow further. I am really looking forward to being part of the CitySprint team and continuing to develop our customer offering.”

In addition to expanding its presence in the North West, the deal enables CitySprint to compliment its organic growth with further strategic growth through acquisition, the company said.

Darren Taylor, SameDay Logistics director, said: “CitySprint is very pleased to welcome TnM Couriers as part of the business. Extending our footprint and capability in the North West has always been our plan and will not only provide service benefits to our existing client base here but also assist in developing new opportunities in this strategically important area the country.

“Through both organic growth and acquisitions, we are continuing to build our extensive national network, which enables us to better serve our customers. We are focused on finding the best acquisition opportunities around the country.”
