Daewoo picks Exel Division

THE CONSUMER EUROPE SECTOR of Exel has been awarded a three-year, £6m contract with Daewoo Electronics Sales UK, dedicated to retail and home deliveries nationwide.
The contract will combine Exel’s resources at its Barton’s Dock centre in Manchester, providing storage and a range of added-value services, with its call centre in South Wales and its fleet of two-man vehicles.
The site, 11,160 sq m of which will be dedicated to Dae-woo, will receive orders directly
via an EDI link in a process supported by Exel’s bespoke version of the Traderman IT system.
The process enables integra-tion between systems and web-facilitated interrogation of order status by both clients and their customers.
Within six hours of receipt of an order, Exel’s call centre con-tacts the customer to confirm time of delivery, within a morning or aflemoon window, and establishes unpacking and installation requirements.
