Gist awarded contract by Budgens

Gist, which has been running retailer Budgens transport operations since November 2000, has been awarded another major contract by the local supermarket retailer. The 5 year agreement, which started in July 2001, sees Gist now servicing Budgens entire warehousing and sitribution operations. A partnership approach underpins the relationshi, demonstrated by the fact that one of Gists directors attends the monthly operating board meetings represtenting logistics.
Martin Hyson, Budgens chief executive explains: We wanted a partner who could work with us to develop a long term strategy to improve operating efficiency and drive down overall costs as a percentage of sales. Gist really took this on board, and it is obvious that they understand the need to deliver bottom line business benefits for their customer.
