UK Mail to bring shipping labels to online shipping customers

UK Mail group has launched a new feature for its ipostparcels online parcel shipping service in which customers will be provided with any shipping labels they need. The “Bring me Labels” feature means that customers requiring a parcel to be collected from their home for shipping no longer need to own a printer to produce their own shipping labels.

The “stress-free” option, which comes with a GBP 0.49 per parcel fee, will see drivers bringing the required labels to the customers’ front door when collecting their parcel.

UK Mail chief executive Guy Buswell said the new feature was part of his company’s effort to create alternative methods of sending a parcel to make shipping easy for the customer.

“We aim to provide some of the best-priced parcel delivery services on the UK market,” he said. “The new ‘Bring me Labels’ service enhances our flexibility and offering which we hope customers will take advantage of.”

The www.ipostparcels.com service was launched last November as an alternative to Royal Mail’s over-the-counter parcel service. Customers including ebay sellers can book next day and time-definite parcel shipping and track their items to delivery.

The company said the service has shown rapid growth since its launch, telling Post&Parcel today that it now has 10,000 registered customers.

UK Mail has 50 depots across the UK, with its parcels business as a whole generating GBP 172.1m revenue in the 12 months up to March, and about GBP 11.6m profit before tax.
