Polish Post hybrid mail system offers cut-price international mail services
Polish people living outside their native country can now send international mail digitally, for conversion into physical letters and postcards prior to final delivery in Poland. The new service comes within the Envelo digital mail platform developed by Polish Post in response to customer demand for an interactive and mobile online postage system.
Customers based outside Poland are also able to use the Envelo service to send mail to people in Poland, offering guaranteed delivery to any location in Poland from PLN 1.99 (EUR 0.48) per item.
The company said through Envelo its domestic customers can also send letters and postcards by Polish Post services to any address in the world.
Services are available for individuals and businesses, and Envelo also allows customers to purchase Polish Post postage stamps in various denominations.
Grzegorz Swidwinski, the president of Polish Post Digital Services, said: “The products offered through the Envelo platform are available at any place with internet access. Our services are also targeted at overseas users, especially Polish communities abroad. Through Envelo they may keep in touch with families in Poland and safely send documents or letters to the offices and legal representatives.”
Services
Envelo’s Neokartka service allows customers anywhere in the world to send a greeting card or postcard to relatives and friends in Poland via the Internet. Polish Post said users can opt for their own messages or use default greetings messages with Polish characters.
The Neolist service within Envelo is the hybrid letter service, with customers sending their letters in e-mail form to be converted by Polish Post into traditional paper letters. Polish Post said the service would mean anyone across the world would be able to send letters to Polish recipients at cheaper rates than by standard international mail services.
And, the company said the encryption system within Envelo means the confidentiality of any letters sent through the system is guaranteed.
In future, Polish Post said it intends to expand the Envelo platform to introduce new services including registered electronic letter services that would include an electronic signature system recognized by the legal system.
Another planned new service is for people living outside Poland to receive letters at an indicated physical address in Poland, accessing the letters electronically via Envelo.
And, the Polish postal company is developing invoice mailing and scanning services, as well as document archiving systems.
Mobile
Polish Post said it is also making Envelo available as an application for smartphones and tablets, for iOS and Android-based systems.
Available in Polish and English, these apps will allow users to send Neocards quickly using readymade designs and photos from their smartphone cameras, for conversion into traditional postcards for delivery. The apps also allow the sending of Neoletters and purchase of postage.
Swidwinski explained: The app for smartphones and tablets is a must for all modern services. Customers want to have unfettered access to the products, which means they want to use them at any time and any place. Thanks Envelo they can send greetings from holiday or from family visit with their photographs attached.”
Polish Post said it also aims to expand the range of Envelo services that will be available through the smartphone/tablet apps, so that both forms of Envelo include access to all of Polish Post’s e-services.
