New Zealand Post joins IPC’s Sprinter road transport network

New Zealand Post has become the tenth member of the IPC road transport network. The arrangement covers mail coming from New Zealand and destined for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland, covering an average monthly volume of nine tonnes. The mail flown in from Auckland, New Zealand arrives at the London Heathrow hub in the morning and is then taken by a Sprinter vehicle. Collections at the London hub are Mondays through Saturdays, ensuring a next-day arrival at final destination.

Since the start of the agreement in March 2014, the overall quality performance from New Zealand to the above-mentioned countries has improved, with on-time performances above 95%.

Created in 2005 as an alternative to the reduced air transport capacity, the Sprinter Network has since contributed in improving delivery quality and implementing transport synergies for the participating postal organisations. To ensure the highest quality of service, IPC monitors and assesses the performance of the network with its CAPE reporting and monitoring system.
