Amazon to open Dallas fulfillment centre

Amazon plans to open a new fulfillment centre in Dallas – which will be its fourth in Texas. The company said that is currently hiring for more than 1,500 positions at the new facility.

Amazon’s other Texas fulfillment centres are located in Coppell, Haslet, and Schertz.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said: “We are thrilled that Amazon chose Dallas as the location for its new fulfillment center. The company has been innovative in not only the level of technology it uses to get packages to our doorsteps, but also in its ability to create quality jobs for a diverse community throughout North Texas.”

Amazon said that employees at the 500,000 square-foot Dallas fulfillment centre will process smaller items, such as books, electronics and consumer goods.
