Deliv expands network with Chicago acquisition
Same-day delivery company Deliv has expanded its US network through the acquisition of Chicago-based WeDeliver. In a statement issued yesterday (24 June), Deliv said that it is “experiencing rapid growth with an 800% organic increase in volume from January to June 2015 compared to the same period in 2014”.
Deliv provides same-day delivery services for over 250 national retailers, including Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Williams-Sonoma, Foot Locker and others, and has partnered with the six largest mall operators in the country.
Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, Deliv operates on a “crowdsourcing model” – using independent drivers who make deliveries in their own vehicles.
Deliv now operates in eight markets: Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Northern New Jersey, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
Launched in 2013, WeDeliver provides same-day delivery services for over 100 merchants in the Chicago area. The company has partnered with a variety of local businesses from omnichannel retailers like Trunk Club and Barneys New York to grocery stores like Plum Market.
“WeDeliver has built a stellar reputation as the premier same-day delivery service for merchants in Chicago,” said Daphne Carmeli, founder and CEO of Deliv.
“We are impressed with Deliv’s strategy and leadership position across the nation’s top retailers,” said Jimmy Odom, founder and CEO of WeDeliver.
