foodpanda Malaysia announces deals with Nando’s and Chili’s
The Malaysian arm of foodpanda has announced that it is now making meal deliveries for Nando’s and Chili’s. In a statement issued today (23 September), Uffe Jordan, Managing Director of foodpanda Malaysia, said: “We are excited to have these top brands on board with us as we have been getting requests from our customers to get these restaurants online.”
Jordan added that foodpanda Malaysia has also been focusing on improving its service: “Our aim is to make sure that customers receive their meal between 45 to 60 minutes. On top of that, foodpanda is automating orders which will help in reducing back and forth communication between restaurants and foodpanda.”
The food delivery company also used today’s statement to report that it has raised more than $310m in funding since its launch in 2012. foodpanda secured $100m in its latest funding round, which it said it would use “to further expand its own delivery activities and improve overall customer experience”. The company added that it is currently “active in 39 countries on five continents”.
In Malaysia, foodpanda delivers in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Melaka, Penang and Johor Bahru. The company had “paused” its Johor Bahru service three months ago in order to “upgrade their delivery operations”, but it announced yesterday (22 September) that it was back in the city.
