Alibaba reportedly set to open new European offices

Alibaba will soon be opening offices in Italy, France and Germany, according to a report published in the Wall Street Journal. According to the WSJ, Alibaba President Michael Evans talked about the plans for the new European offices at an event held to promote this year’s “11.11” online shopping festival on 11 November.

Evans was appointed as Alibaba’s President in August, and he has specific responsibility for leading Alibaba’s international growth strategy, and “forging close partnerships with key brands, retailers and product owners in Europe, the Americas and Asia”.
