Starship delivery robots coming to Washington DC

The District of Columbia’s city council has given the go-ahead for Starship Technologies to test its delivery robots on the streets of Washington DC. Allan Martinson, Starship’s chief operating officer, was quoted by the Washington Post as saying:  “We’re really glad that D.C. is one of the primary locations not only in the United States but also in the world for our testing.”

The Washington pilot project will run from 15 September through to the end of December.

As previously reported by Post&Parcel, Starship Technologies has conducted tests in the London borough of Greenwich, and it is also working with the delivery company, Hermes, on a pilot project in Germany later this summer.
