Higher USPS rates now in effect for First Class Mail packages of 1-3 ounces

The US Postal Service has implemented a rate increase of approximately 7% for First-Class Mail packages weighing 1-3 ounces. This new change came into effect from Sunday (28 August). It is intended to correct an abnormality created by a broader rate increase programme introduced in January, which made it made it less expensive to bring 1-3 ounce First-Class Mail packages to the post office than printing postage online.

The new USPS rate for First-Class Mail packages weighing 1-3 ounces is $2.62.
