Yamato reportedly feeling the strain of making same-day deliveries for Amazon Japan

Yamato Holdings may be looking to scale back on making same-day deliveries for Amazon in Japan, according to local sources. Reports published today (7 April) on the Nikkei Asian Review website and referenced by Reuters say Yamato is looking to “gradually shrink the number of same-day deliveries to zero”.

The Mainichi, however, quoted “company sources” as saying that Yamato was merely “mulling” a halt on same-day delivery.

There has been no official comment from Amazon Japan.
