CouriersPlease appoints COO
Australia-based parcel delivery service CouriersPlease (CP) has appointed Hoy Yen Hooper as its Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to CP CEO Mark McGinley, Hoy Yen will oversee the delivery of more than 17 million parcels CP delivers yearly Australia-wide and around the world. She will be responsible for the overall management, performance and strategic direction of CP’s operations.
Hoy Yen has nearly two decades of general management and strong commercial experience in the Australian and New Zealand logistics and supply chain sectors, most recently as the Head of Commercial Operations at Sendle, and previously, Managing Director at DHL eCommerce Oceania, and Commercial and Operations Manager at Deutsche Post Global Mail (Australia).
Hoy Yen said: “I am looking forward to heading up the operations at CP at an exciting time for the logistics and eCommerce market in Australia. With big players such as Amazon and Alibaba coming to our shores for the first time, CP aims to become a leader in parcel deliveries.”
CP has recently launched a number of solutions to meet consumer demands for more flexible delivery options. Consumers who shop online through a CP-partnered retailer are provided with the option to redirect their parcel – via an email notification sent during transit – to an alternative address, give their courier authority to leave the parcel without a signature, or redirect their parcel delivery to a nearby CP-nominated retail outlet or parcel locker – called POPShops and POPStations respectively. POPPoints are accessible for extended hours, seven days a week.
