Iceland Post and IKEA sign agreement for home deliveries

Iceland Post and IKEA in Iceland have signed an agreement to cover home deliveries in the capital, Reykjavik. Iceland Post told Post&Parcel today (29 August) that it will be able to “deliver everything from small items to kitchen interiors”.  Deliveries will take place between 14:00 and 21:00 every day including weekends.

Svanhildur Hauksdóttir, IKEA’s Distribution Manager, said that the agreement is a “good addition to home delivery which is an important part of IKEA’s basic service”.

Elvar Bjarki Helgason, Head of Sales and Services of Iceland Post, added: “We have been emphasizing on the company’s strategy on distribution of larger shipment (parcel and logistic) and the agreement with IKEA is part of this development.”
