UK’s Advertising Standards Authority assessing complaints over Amazon’s next-day delivery claims
The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has confirmed to Post&Parcel that it has received a number of complaints regarding Amazon’s claims for the Prime next-day delivery service and it is currently assessing whether there are grounds for a formal investigation.
An ASA spokesperson told Post&Parcel this morning (19 December) that the authority will decide how to proceed in the next day or so.
A number of UK media outlets – including the BBC – have reported that they received comments from disgruntled Amazon Prime customers.
The BBC said that it had been “inundated” – and it quoted two customers who complained about Amazon “often” missing its next-day delivery target.
