China’s parcel volumes hit 40bn in 2017
Chinese express firms delivered around 40bn parcels in 2017, according to the State Post Bureau.
This was about 28% up on the previous year.
The overall postal business is expected to reach 976bn yuan ($150bn), is a 32% increase year-on-year.
Postal infrastructure expanded steadily last year with over 1,000 storage and delivery centres built.
China’s e-commerce market was, of course, the primary drive for the surging parcel growth.
