Ministerial applause

The UK’s Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Matthew Hancock, has applauded Hermes for its “commitment to innovation” following a visit to its Newmarket depot.

Hancock, who is MP for West Suffolk, was able to trial a Hermes ‘Pay and Print In Store’ device and inspect a delivery robot. He also had a preview of some of the innovations currently being devised by the company, including possible uses of cutting edge technologies such as HoloLens and facial recognition technology.

“I have been thoroughly impressed by Hermes’ commitment to innovation as a part of improving the delivery experience for online shoppers across the UK,” said Hancock. “I also look forward to seeing some of the exciting solutions currently in development soon becoming a reality.”
