Asendia buys Globegistics

Asendia has acquired the US-based global e-commerce and mail company Globegistics.

Globegistics has five facilities in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami, which will further strengthen Asendia’s presence in North America.

Globegistics will join the Asendia Group – which was founded by  La Poste and Swiss Post – with 15 subsidiaries in Asia, Europe and the USA.

Globegistics and Asendia USA will operate as independent entities under their current leadership and will explore opportunities which may be beneficial to both companies

Marc Pontet, Chief Executive Officer of Asendia, commented: “We are delighted that Globegistics is joining the Asendia Group. Globegistics is a fast growing and very dynamic company that we believe is a perfect complement to our existing business in North America, Asendia USA. Most importantly, Globegistics shares Asendia’s core values of trust, respect, reliability, which are the best pillars with which to build great successes. On behalf of all of Asendia’s 1,000 staff around the world, as well as our shareholders Swiss Post and La Poste, I enthusiastically welcome the entire Globegistics team to Asendia.”

Jack Meehan, Chairman and founder of Globegistics, added: “I am thrilled that Globegistics is joining such a prestigious group as Asendia. When we founded Globegistics in 2011, our mission was to give our customers the best service possible in order to build the fastest growing company in the industry. It is particularly satisfying for me that my partners Rob DiVincenzo and Doug Longobardi will continue the Globegistics adventure with the support of such a fine company as Asendia.”
