Board changes at Posti

Finland’s Posti has announced that Per Sjödell, Frank Marthaler and Pertti Miettinen have been elected to join its Board of Directors, and Markku Pohjola is continuing as Chair.

Posti held its Annual General Meeting was held in Helsinki yesterday (27 March).

In an official statement about the AGM, Posti said that the decision was taken to distribute a dividend of €27m based on the result in 2017 and an extra dividend of €13m. Dividend distribution is altogether €40m.

Alongside the three new members, Markku Pohjola, Suvi-Anne Siimes, Petri Järvinen, Marja Pokela and Arja Talma will continue to serve on the Board. Kirsi Nuotto and Petri Kokko were not available for re-election.

Markku Pohjola was elected as the Chair of the Board of Directors and Suvi-Anne Siimes as the Deputy Chair.

Some more information on the new members:

  • Frank Marthaler is an postal industry veteran. He was CEO of Swiss Post Solution from 2007 to 2014 and is member of the Board of Directors of Trendcommerce Group, C-Level Media and Aletsch Bahnen.
  • Per Sjödell is founder and Chair of the Board of Directors of communications agency Red City PR. He is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Nordic Morning, Lyko Group and design agency Identity Works Ab. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of fashion brand Abury and Project Soar NGO.
  • Pertti Miettinen is the National Chief Shop Steward of Posti Group Corporation. He joined Posti in 2015. During 2002-2015 he worked as a Working Conditions Specialist at Finnish Post and Logistics Union PAU. During 1995-2002 he worked as a Postal Worker at Posti.
