Gatemore reportedly calling on Wincanton to sell off one of its two divisions

Activist investor Gatemore Capital Management is reportedly calling for UK-based logistics company Wincanton to sell of one of its two divisions.

Wincanton has a division that works with retailers, and a construction and transport business that handles industrial products.

According to a report published by Reuters, Gatemore (which has a 2% stake in the company) sent a letter to its own investors suggesting that Wincanton should “conduct a strategic review, sell one of its two divisions, fund the pension, and refocus the business”.
