Bulking up?

UPS is reportedly looking to become more involved in the market for home delivery and installation of bulkier items like furniture and household appliances.

A report published by Reuters yesterday (2 May) quoted informed sources as saying that UPS has been in talks with trucking company Werner Enterprise about a possible tie-up. UPS currently makes home deliveries of items up to 150lbs and does not specialize in the “white glove” services such as furniture assembly and appliance installation.

Neither UPS nor Werner has commented on the reports.
