Connect Group appoints Non-Executive Director

Connect Group has announced that Michael Holt will join the Board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Michael has most recently been the Chief Operating Officer of Fedex Express, Europe (from May 2016 to September 2018) and has also held a number of other senior executive roles with FedEx Corporation since 2006. Prior to that, Michael held senior executive roles at a number of leading organisations including ANC Group, 20:20 Logistics, Findel Education and Borden Decorative Products (a division of Borden Inc).

Gary Kennedy, Chairman of Connect Group, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Michael to the Connect Group Board. His expertise in the logistics sector will enhance the skills and experience we are bringing to the Group to deliver a profit recovery at Tuffnells and broader strategic turnaround.  I look forward to drawing on Michael’s insight into the business operations and his wider contribution on the Board.”

Michael Holt said: “I’m excited to be joining Connect Group at this time. There is clear opportunity for performance improvement, leveraging the undoubted strengths of Tuffnells and Smiths News in their respective markets. I look forward to contributing to both the immediate profit recovery plans and long term strategy of the Company.”
