DB Schenker continues its expansion in Spain
DB Schenker has announced the acquisition of the entire share capital of Grupo Loserco and Transportes Santos Campos, two leading companies in the land transport sector in Andalusia and Valencia, Spain.
With these two acquisitions, DB Schenker will incorporate seven new centers with more than 150 employees who will continue to serve current and new customers and who will now join over 74,200 DB Schenker employees worldwide.
The acquisitions represent a further step in the expansion of DB Schenker’s business in Spain, and thus strengthen the company’s presence in the Iberian market. “These acquisitions represent a major step for our company and strengthen our global network,” says Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DB Schenker in Europe. “Moreover, they will enable us to expand the value we can offer in the region by providing broader and more comprehensive services. We are thus demonstrating our claim to leadership at a challenging time for the logistics sector and for our customers.”
Cyrille Bonjean, Executive Vice President Land Transport at DB Schenker in Europe, adds the following: “The integration of these companies in Spain marks the first step in a stage of growth and geographical expansion that we anticipate will be very prosperous and full of opportunities for DB Schenker and our team.”
Both acquisitions are part of the strategy for global expansion and continued growth that DB Schenker has been developing and enhancing based on the strength of its business model. With these acquisitions, DB Schenker will expand its workforce on the Iberian Peninsula to more than 2,100 professionals who work directly and indirectly in 31 locations.
