DHL Express strengthens its sales outlet network following an agreement with Prodesa
Last October, DHL Express and Prodesa, press distributors to shops and newspaper stands belonging to the Grupo Zeta, signed a collaboration agreement adding Prodesa to DHL’s Spanish outlet network.
Under this agreement, the Prodesa Rail Press and La Tienda Z outlets will offer DHL services functioning on the basis of the new pre-payment system. Clients will therefore be able to pay beforehand for this service, receiving the packaging of their choice to suit their needs, together with a folder containing simple instructions to help them complete the documentation required for their shipment. Once wrapped, they can hand it in at the collection point whenever it suits them.
Apart from making it faster for clients to complete the procedures related to the sale of DHL services, this system is adapted to the Prodesa outlet style and ensures that clients get the right packaging for their shipments.
This agreement targets responding to the growing demand for transport services by individuals, small company owners, freelance professionals and the fast-rising number of immigrants generally located in towns and cities.
The geographical areas covered, guarantee of shipment deadlines and simplicity of this service (packages, documentation, etc.) play an essential part in solving these peoples’ requirements, meaning that, through Prodesa, DHL offers a comprehensive service meeting all transport needs, thanks to which a package can be sent to Seville or Buenos Aires with identical ease and guarantees.
The campaign launched to announce this initiative throughout the month of November included the over 30 Prodesa newspaper stands in Madrid and Barcelona and involved completely covering them to look like a DHL package.
This initiative will shortly spread to the other Prodesa centres throughout Spain, bringing the number of outlets at which the DHL service is available to over 60.
These new distribution points will join the already existing widespread Spanish network currently consisting of over 375 centres, a figure expected to triple in the next two years.
DHL will therefore make important investments with a view to strengthening its offer and consolidating its brand image in this market segment. A unique, simple national and international service with high-quality packaging free of charge, the automatic administration of documentation and, of course, a leading network of collaborators in their respective sectors as the pillars of this project.
Companies such as Workcenter, Dinero Express, Delta, Kopiak, Ikatz and Foticos have already recently signed alliances of this kind with DHL.
