Record growth for DPD Masterlink in 2006

Volumes, sales and profits are rising. In 2006 the company registered a record growth of volumes – 12,2 million parcels were delivered. This is nearly a 50% rise in comparison with 2005. This increase is also reflected in the growth of turnover by 40%.

In order to effectively service the increased market activity, already from the beginning of 2006 investments began in operational and IT infrastructure of DPD Masterlink. This resulted in the establishment of a second depot in Warsaw, enlargement of the company’s headquarters by further warehouse and office area, increasing the Katowice depot area and the modernization of other existing branches in the country. Simultaneously the company invested in necessary warehouse equipment, conveyor belts and IT systems.

„2006 is another year in a row, during which we register growth, three times bigger than the market, and manage to maintain high quality of services. Rise in volumes, which we plan for 2007 are ambitious, however our main focus are further investments – meaning the development of our infrastructure and adapting it to our also very ambitious future plans. The Polish courier market is stabilizing and becoming an ever more important logistic sector. We predict that the finalization of the first phase of investments in operational infrastructure will occur in 2010 – says Rafa³ Naw³oka, DPD Masterlink President.

One of the most important happenings in 2007 for DPD Masterlink is the change of the company’s name. This way the Polish DPD subsidiary will officially start to function. The change of the legal name of the company is the last step in the transition phase of the two brands coexistence. Thanks to this change Masterlink will be able to build a new international image, as well as compete more effectively on the market and increase its share in the international parcels segment..

„We are a predictable and stable company, belonging to a large, European logistic network DPD. These are very important factors for customers, who seek a long-term cooperation with a reliable partner. Having an owner such as the French post La Poste, as well as a strong and successful team of people, we can optimistically look towards the future“ – adds Rafa³ Naw³oka.
