Polish Postal Service Brought To Standstill By Strike
Poczta Polska, the Polish postal service, has ground to a standstill after postal workers began strike action yesterday. The Solidarity Union has been demanding a wage rise of 160 euros but management say 90 euros is the best they can offer without destabilising the postal service and that the union-proposed rise was out of the question.
20,000 distribution workers are thought to be involved in the strike.
