TNT to cut 300 jobs from its UK and Irish network
Although TNT declines to put a figure on the current fall in delivery volumes it’s clear that the whole express delivery sector is under pressure as the economic situation worsens.
TNT says that redundancies, which are subject to a 30-day consultation process, will be spread across both its network of 55 depots and its head office, plus its added value businesses and will in most cases be limited to single figures.
The job losses do not affect drivers in either line-haul or collection and delivery roles, however the company is cutting the use of sub-contractors on the line-haul operation in order to save costs.
