Correos manages more than 5.5 million bills in the first half of 2009
This figure represents 77.5% of all the 7,108,373 bills managed in 2008. Correos’ offices correspond to the ‘multiservice’ centre concept, designed to offer customers and users a unique space where they can settle a growing amount of daily procedures, comfortably and in the shortest time possible: national and international mail and parcels; money orders and telegrams; sending burofaxes or money, with the immediate money order or the international ‘dinero en minutos’ (money in minutes) services; paying gas, phone, electricity, insurance bills; mobile phone recharging and the BanCorreos banking services, among others.
The advantages for customers are the ease of always having a post office nearby, thanks to their extensive the branch network, and the long opening hours, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm in those branches only open to the public in the morning, and from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm in those branches that stay open all day.
Those branches located in shopping centres provide this service during the same opening hours as the shopping centre, including public holidays.
During holiday periods, this service enables customers who travel to other areas and who do not pay their bills by direct debit, to pay their bill at any post office. Likewise, throughout the year, owners with holiday homes can pay their bills at any Correos branch, even if it is not in the town where the home is located.
