Home shoppers can shop away from home
Home shoppers ordering from a retailer which has signed up to the Local Collect scheme launched by Consignia – the UK post office – can choose delivery to a local post office.
Alternatively, the customer can ask for home delivery on the understanding that the package will be redirected to their post office if they are not at home when delivery is attempted.
Retailers will not be charged for the service, said David Taylor, Consignia’s MD, home shopping. “This service adds a new dimension and will attract many more people to shop from home, ” he added.
“Delivery at a convenient time and place is one of the key demands of consumers.”
