GFS announces Crawley Town shirt sponsorship

UK parcel and carrier manager Global Freight Solutions (GFS) is to become Crawley Town Football Club’s shirt sponsor. An undisclosed six-figure deal will see the name of GFS emblazoned across the club’s red and white shirts for the next two years.

Crawley Town will wear the shirts as they play in the Football League for the first time this upcoming season.

Club chief executive Alan Williams said: “We are delighted to have formed a partnership with GFS for the next two years. It comes at the most exciting time in the history of Crawley Town FC, as we prepare for our first season in the Football League.

“Since we played Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup and then clinched promotion, interest from blue chip companies in West Sussex has been marvellous.”

GFS handles millions of parcels each year on behalf of clients in retail, financial services, leisure and engineering. Its headquarters at Billingshurst are less than 15 miles from the club’s Broadfield Stadium ground.

Managing director Neil Cotty said the decision to join forces with Crawley Town had been taken because both were embarking on milestone years.

“We have been in business exactly 10 years this year and fully understand the challenges which you need to overcome in order to make progress. We were all gripped by Crawley Town’s achievements last season and hope that we can play a part in helping them to further success this time around.

“Also, as a national business based in West Sussex, one of the things which particularly appealed to us about working with the club was its desire to develop its connection with and commitment to the West Sussex area, something which is very important to us too.”
