PostNL takes direct mail digital with Folders.NL website
PostNL has launched a new website providing a digital route for retail direct mail advertising in the Netherlands. Folders.nl went live yesterday, with PostNL suggesting that many households that opt not to receive catalogues or bulk advertising mail through the physical mail could be reached through the new website.
As well as clothing and shoe catalogues, the website features flyers from a wide range of retailers from supermarkets to specialist electronics stores and DIY stores.
Retailers can upload flyers, brochures and catalogues and add details and directions to point consumers to their brick-and-mortar stores.
Consumers can search the website for the best offers on specific products or brands from an array of different retailers.
Partners
PostNL has developed the project with Netwerk VSP, its direct mail delivery subsidiary, along with partners including e-commerce platform hybris and media digitalisation specialist software house Publitas.com.
The project is also partnering with reviews website Wugly.NL to provide reviews of the various retail outlets featured on Folders.NL.
Ger Jacobs, Commerce Director at PostNL, said Folders.NL was a “good extension” of the physical delivery of brochures.
“It enables retailers to reach more households, for example those in rural areas or digitally oriented consumers,” he said of the new web platform.
“Also, Folders.nl offers a solution for households that prefer not to receive physical brochures for environmental reasons. They can now read these brochures online.”
