UPS increases operations in Brazil
The US UPS (United Parcel Service) had a 10% increase on the operations in Brazil in the last quarter of 2001. However, the company still has a very modest position Latin America, specially Brazil. In the domestic market UPS comes after companies like DHL, Worldwide and Fedex (Federal Express). According to Abrec (Associacao Brasileira das Empresas Courier) the leader is DHL, followed by FedEx and UPS. In 1999, the company acquired CAC (Challenge Air Cargo) and who operated in the Aeroporto Internacional de Viracopos (Sao Paulo). CAC suspended operations since early 2002 and UPS Air Cargo is the current responsible for five weekly flights to Brazil.
