Securicor predicts growth in Europe
SECURICOR OMEGA Express has seen ts distribution business, which is 50 percent held by Deutsche post increase revenue by two percent during the year ending 30 September.
Turnover for the twelve months was £339 million from £332 million the year before. Profits increased fractionaUy from £6.0 million to £6.1 million for the oeriod, with the corn-
pany citing the cost of investment in IT as a prime factor for the weak earnings.
Next day business, which accounted for 70 percent of overall business saw a fall off in the final quarter, as shippers throughout Europe chose more economical transportation products.
Claus Duval, the company’s newly appointed sales director, said growth for the
company would come from ‘expanding its international sales and cementing ifs position as a quality logistics provider.
Duval, who comes from Denmark, will be based at company headquarters in the UK.
He said: “The UK market is a mature one, but the international market has vast potential. We aim to be among the
leading distribution companies in Europe, and we will strive to make the company the best in the field.”
