FedEx Ground launches new North Dakota distribution facility
FedEx Ground yesterday (2 September) launched its new distribution centre in Grand Forks, North Dakota. According to local sources, the new 120,000 square-foot building is located in the city’s business park on the west side of Interstate 29, and it has been introduced because FedEx has outgrown its old Grand Forks facility on US Highway 2.
The local newspaper Grand Forks Herald has reported that an opening ceremony took place yesterday, and it quoted facility senior manager Jason Marx as saying that the centre acts as a pickup and delivery station where packages are processed before going to or coming from hubs in Winnipeg and St. Paul, Minnesota. It processes around 2,400 packages an hour and employs about 50 people.
