Kentucky Fried Chicken and DoorDash announce meal delivery partnership

Kentucky Fried Chicken and DoorDash have announced the launch of a new meal delivery service. DoorDash will initially deliver from KFC restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Orange County – the companies plan to expand the service to other US cities in the coming months.

In a statement issued yesterday (12 November), the two companies said: “Coming on the heels of DoorDash’s successful test and partnership with Taco Bell this summer, KFC marks the second YUM! Brands restaurant to power their delivery offerings with DoorDash, further strengthening the relationship between the two companies.”

Tony Xu, CEO and Co-founder of DoorDash, added: “Just two years ago, DoorDash was in one market and three cities. Today we’re in 18 markets, more than 250 cities, and forging strategic partnerships with national brands like KFC.”

As previously reported, this has been a week of mixed fortunes for DoorDash, as the on-demand food delivery company has become embroiled in a legal dispute with In-N-Out Burger.
