Starbucks starts delivery service in Seattle
Starbucks has announced that it is working with Postmates to launch a pilot delivery service in “designated areas” of its home city, Seattle. The service starts today (2 December) and customers will be able to food and beverages via the Starbucks iOS app.
The Postmates couriers will collect the ordered items from the nearest Starbucks store and customers will be able to track the progress of the delivery by watching their Postmates courier travel in real-time on a map.
In a statement posted on its website today, Starbucks said: “Postmates couriers will be able to skip the line to pick up delivery orders. Initially, customers will be given a 60 minute window for delivery but most orders will arrive in less than 30 minutes.”
As previously reported, Starbucks made its first foray into the on-demand delivery business in October, when it announced that it would be delivering to offices in New York’s Empire State Building.
