Bring Cargo uses Descartes for EU Union Customs Code compliance

Posten Norge’s Bring Cargo UK is using the cloud-based Descartes e-Customs solution to help ensure compliance with the European Union’s (EU) new Union Customs Code (UCC) legislation which came into effect on 1 May. “To keep our customers’ goods flowing seamlessly, it’s critical to keep up with international trade and supply chain process changes driven by programs such as the UCC,” said Steve Gorrod, Operations Manager at Bring Cargo. “Descartes is an important partner in the compliance process, helping us to stay current with evolving regulatory requirements.”

Descartes e-Customs helps shippers and logistics service providers submit data to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and other government agencies from a web interface.

According to a statement issued by Descartes on Tuesday (1o May), the e-Customs solution has helped Bring Cargo reduce costs by automating and simplifying its end-to-end customs declaration process and minimizing IT infrastructure expenditures.
