Incident at FedEx San Antonio facility
A package exploded at a FedEx sortation centre in San Antonio this morning (2o March).
Local media reported that the package contained nails and shrapnel and a FedEx employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
FedEx posted this short statement on its website: “We can confirm that a single package exploded while in a FedEx Ground sortation facility early this morning. One team member is being treated for minor injuries. We are working closely with law enforcement in their investigation. We are not providing any additional specific information about this package at this time.”
There been speculation that the San Antonio incident could be linked to a series of four homemade bombs that hit the Texas capital of Austin this month.
