Amazon announces new facility in North Las Vegas

Amazon has announced plans to open a new fulfilment centre in Southern Nevada.

In a statement issued on Wednesday (4 April), Amazon said that the new site in North Las Vegas will be its its fourth customer fulfilment facility in the state of Nevada.

Amazon currently employs more than 3,000 full-time associates at its three existing Nevada facilities in North Las Vegas and Reno.

Amazon employees at the new centre will pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, household items and toys.

“This is good news for our state and for North Las Vegas,” Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval said. “With the creation of a new 800,000 square-foot fulfillment center, Amazon will help create an additional 1,000 jobs in Nevada.”
