Deutsche Post plans to close depots
Deutsche Post, the German postal service, is planning to merge the depots of Deutsche Post Express, its subsidiary which provides courier services, with those of DHL, the express service which it recently acquired. The plans form part of the programme introduced by Klaus Zumwinkel, the head of Deutsche Post, with the aim of increasing the company’s annual profit by at least 1.4bn euros in comparison with 2002 by 2005.
